Remember in Prayer Board Members Who Have Passed to be With the Lord
Kathy Gisin
Children in Need suffered heartbreak when the Lord called Kathy Gisin to His side on August 8, 2024. Kathy was a member of the Board of Directors of Children in Need almost since its inception. She was a valued and prolific member of the board, participating in fundraising and promoting our cause in Zambia. Those who knew her delighted in her company, as she was loving, charitable, and devoted to her faith. Her sense of humor was infectious, and she knew how to socialize and have fun. Although her health issues hampered her mobility, she found the strength to attend Children in Need board meetings regularly. When she could not attend in person, she would connect via Zoom. Her selflessness and positive outlook were an inspiration to those around her. We will miss her dearly, but we all know she made a tremendous impact on those who knew her and made a lasting impact on the people of Zambia, whom she served with honor, vigor, and love.
Ben Davis
Children in Need suffered a tragic loss on June 27, 2023, when Howard E. (Ben) Davis passed away surrounded by family and friends. Ben Davis served on the Children in Need board of directors since its inception in 2002. He graciously hosted meetings in his office for several years as the organization grew. He remained an active member of the board until his death. Ben will be remembered for his generosity, wit, and energy for the organization. He recruited his wife and the love of his life to serve on the Board of Directors and she does so to this day. Ben was a devoted alumni of The University of Notre Dame and remained active in the Alumni Association. He served the Lord through his actions and devotion. Ben was active in the Acts retreats, attending many over the years. He was committed to the principles and goals of our organization. Ben was loved and remembered for his wit, love for Our Lord, his generosity and his infectious laughter. He will be fondly remembered by all of us, and we miss him deeply.
